Subject: Truth
Hymn 282
Author Unknown
Praise the Lord, ye heavens, adore Him;
Praise Him, angels, in the height;
Sun and moon, rejoice before Him,
Praise Him, all ye stars of light;
Praise the Lord, for He hath spoken,
Worlds His mighty voice obeyed;
Laws that never shall be broken
For their guidance hath He made.
Praise the Lord, for He is glorious;
Never shall His promise fail;
God hath made His saints victorious,
Sin and death shall not prevail.
Praise the God of our salvation;
Hosts on high, His power proclaim;
Heaven and earth, and all creation,
Laud and magnify His name.
The scriptural selection is
from Deuteronomy
Deuteronomy 30:1‑20
And it shall come to pass,
when all these things are come upon thee, the blessing and the curse, which I
have set before thee, and thou shalt call them to mind among all the nations,
whither the Lord thy God hath driven thee, And shalt return unto the Lord thy
God, and shalt obey his voice according to all that I command thee this day,
thou and thy children, with all thine heart, and with all thy soul; That then
the Lord thy God will turn thy captivity, and have compassion upon thee, and
will return and gather thee from all the nations, whither the Lord thy God hath
scattered thee.
If any of thine be
driven out unto the outmost parts of heaven, from thence will the Lord thy God
gather thee, and from thence will he fetch thee: And the Lord thy God will
bring thee into the land which thy fathers possessed, and thou shalt possess
it; and he will do thee good, and multiply thee above thy fathers. And the Lord thy God will circumcise thine
heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the Lord thy God with all thine
heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live. And the Lord thy God will put all these
curses upon thine enemies, and on them that hate thee, which persecuted
thee. And thou shalt return and obey the
voice of the Lord, and do all his commandments which I command thee this
day.
And the Lord thy God will make thee
plenteous in every work of thine hand, in the fruit of thy body, and in the
fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy land, for good: for the Lord will
again rejoice over thee for good, as he rejoiced over thy fathers: If thou
shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to keep his commandments and
his statutes which are written in this book of the law, and if thou turn unto
the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul. #For this commandment which I command thee
this day, it is not hidden from thee, neither is it far off. It is not in heaven, that thou shouldest say,
Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it,
and do it? Neither is it beyond the sea,
that thou shouldest say, Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it unto
us, that we may hear it, and do it? But
the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou
mayest do it. #See, I have set before
thee this day life and good, and death and evil; In that I command thee this
day to love the Lord thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments
and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the
Lord thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess
it.
But if thine heart turn away, so
that thou wilt not hear, but shalt be drawn away, and worship other gods, and
serve them; I denounce unto you this day, that ye shall surely perish, and that
ye shall not prolong your days upon the land, whither thou passest over Jordan
to go to possess it. I call heaven and
earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and
death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed
may live: That thou mayest love the Lord thy God, and that thou mayest obey his
voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length
of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the Lord sware unto thy
fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.
Silent prayer, followed by the audible repetition of the Lord’s prayer, with its spiritual interpretation as given in the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy
Our Father which art in heaven,
Our Father-Mother God, all-harmonious,
Hallowed be Thy name.
Adorable One.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy kingdom is come; Thou art ever-present.
Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Enable us to know – as in heaven, so on earth
God is omnipotent, supreme.
Give us this day our daily bread;
Give us grace for today; feed the famished affections;
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And Love is reflected in love;
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil;
And God leadeth us not into temptation, but delivereth us from sin, disease, and death.
For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever.
For God is infinite, all-power, all Life, Truth, Love, over all, and All.
Hymn 139
Minny M. H. Ayers
I walk with Love along the way,
And O, it is a holy day;
No more I suffer cruel fear,
I feel God's presence with me here;
The joy that none can take away
Is mine; I walk with Love today.
Who walks with Love along the way,
Shall talk with Love and Love obey;
God's healing truth is free to all,
Our Father answers every call;
'Tis He dispels the clouds of gray
That all may walk with Love today.
Come, walk with Love along the way,
Let childlike trust be yours today;
Uplift your thought, with courage go,
Give of your heart's rich overflow,
And peace shall crown your joy‑filled day.
Come, walk with Love along the way.

Friends:
The Bible and the Christian Science textbook are our only preachers. We shall now read Scriptural texts, and their correlative passages from our denominational textbook; these comprise our sermon.
The canonical writings, together with the word of our textbook, corroborating and explaining the Bible texts in their spiritual import and application to all ages, past, present, and future, constitute a sermon undivorced from truth, uncontaminated and unfettered by human hypotheses, and divinely authorized.
The lesson-sermon from the Bible and the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy, read by the First and Second Readers.
The content of the Lesson Sermon may be found in the Christian Science Quarterly. You may also read the Lesson-Sermon for this week online by clicking here.
Hymn 221
Margaret Glenn Matters
O Jesus, our dear Master,
Thy works, now understood,
Reveal their full effulgence
Through love and brotherhood.
Today Christ's precious Science
Thy healing power makes plain:
With joy may all obey thee
And cast out sin and pain.
The Christ, eternal manhood,
As God's own Son beloved,
A tender ever‑presence
Within each heart is proved.
O God, our Father‑Mother,
Thy name we see expressed
By man, who in Thy Science
Is perfect, holy, blessed.
O Science, God‑sent message
To tired humanity,
Thou art Love's revelation
Of Truth that makes us free.
Thy kingdom, God, within us
Shows forth Love's sweet control.
God's idea, man, rejoices;
He knows the reign of Soul.
"The Scientific Statement of Being" (S&H p. 468} and the correlative scripture according to I John 3:1-3.
There is no life, truth, intelligence, nor substance in matter. All is infinite Mind and its infinite manifestation, for God is All-in-all. Spirit is immortal Truth; matter is mortal error. Spirit is the real and eternal; matter is the unreal and temporal. Spirit is God, and man is His image and likeness. Therefore man is not material; he is spiritual.

1John.3
[1] Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
[2] Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
[3] And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
Benediction
Psalms 31:3
For thou art my rock and my
fortress; therefore for thy name's sake lead me, and guide me.
